What are incremental backups?

A drawing shows many different devices in the form of PCs, tablets, and cell phones exchanging data and storing it all in a small cloud.

Regular data backups take place in the form of incremental backups. Only the first backup includes a complete copy of the data. In all subsequent backups, only changes are tracked. Only changed files are then transferred to backup storage. This speeds up backups consi­derably while maintaining the same level of security!
